EngineRoom (i.e. Patricia) was proud to be part of the judging panel at the TeamBuild 2015 finals last weekend. This year’s challenge gave teams the task of planning, designing and presenting hypothetical proposals based around the “Edinburgh Gateway” – the complex transport interchange at Gogar.

11 teams representing 24 of the top construction companies reached the finals stage. The talent and the professionalism of each team was really something and choosing a winner was an unenviable task. In the end, the 14 senior industry figures on the panel chose the “Blue Steel” team – all under 30 and dominated by females! What a bright future!

Blue Steel’s proposal won them a £2k cash prize donated by The Worshipful Company of Constructors. There’s more information on this year’s event from TeamBuild on this link file:///C:/Users/corya/Downloads/Teambuild_PressRelease2015_RevB_[1].pdf but the weekend really brought into focus the fact that when given the opportunity, there is a generation of young minds ready to step up to the challenges ahead of us all.
